Obituary for Anna Sanabria (Escovar Cruz)
Anna Sanabria, 82, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022 at Kings Harbor Multicare Center in the Bronx.
She was born in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico on April 2, 1940, daughter of the late Teodoro Escobar and Himogenes Cruz. When she was two years old, Anna’s family relocated to New York City.
In 1961, she married Epifanio Sanabria at St. Athanasius Church in the Bronx. Anna was predeceased by her husband in 1996.
She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, and she especially loved to craft items for her family & friends. She also enjoyed doing word search puzzles as well as watching television. More than anything, she will be remembered as a “social butterfly” who cherished spending time with her loved ones.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Ann Ramos & her husband Luis; her daughter, Diana Williams & her husband Hervin; her grandchildren, Angel Ramos, Angelica Ramos, Bianca Williams, Sierra Williams, Christina Sanabria, Jasmine Cardona, Jessica Lamont, and Ashley Lamont; as well as five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Anna was also predeceased by her daughter, Yvette Lamont.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. A funeral service will begin at 7 p.m. immediately following the visitation.
