Obituary for James Joseph Corker

East Fishkill – James Joseph Corker, 66, an area resident since 1996 and formerly of the Bronx, died on July 25, 2022 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in the Bronx on October 15, 1955, he was the son of James Henry and Mary (Leahy) Corker. Jim had been employed for 20 years as a Bridge and Tunnel Officer for the Triboro Bridge and Tunnel Authority until his retirement in 2012. He was a parishioner of St. Columba Church, and a member of the Sons of the American Legion.

On December 15, 1978 at St. Benedict’s Church in the Bronx, Jim married Barbara Farrell who survives at home. He is also survived by his children, Megan Posey and William Corker; his granddaughters, Hollie and Julie, the loves of his life; his sister, Linda Potzauf, her husband Dan, their children Sharlet and Tom and their families; his mother-in-law, Barbara Farrell; and his sister-in-law, Margaret Keaveny, her daughters Tara and Caitlin, and Tara’s children, Aiden and Haley. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his father-in-law, George Farrell.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
