Elzbieta Czudziak, also known as Ela, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh, NY. She was 66.
She was born in Wroclaw, Poland on August 5, 1955. After emigrating to the United States, Elzbieta had resided in Jamaica, Ozone Park and Valley Stream, NY. Along with her family, she relocated to Fishkill, NY in 2022 to retire and enjoy her four generations of family under one roof.
Elzibeta co-owned and operated W.E. Express, Inc. along with her husband. She was a loving, caring, strong woman who loved to spend time with her family. She took pride in holding her family together. Any chance she would get, she would vacation with her family and sightsee or take her grandkids to the park and watch them play. She loved dogs, horses and all animals. She would be especially happy when Spanish music would come on and she would dance and laugh and light up the room. She loved playing rummy 500 and watching soap operas. She loved seeing her kids and grandkids smile and always made sure to be the pillar of the house.
In 1978, she married Wojciech S. Czudziak in Wroclaw, Poland. Wojciech survives at home in Fishkill, NY.
Additional survivors include her daughter, Justyna Ruiz & her husband William of Fishkill; her daughter, Dorota Czudziak of Fishkill; her granddaughters, Madison Ruiz and Evangeline Gaffey; her mother, Maria Bajor; her sister, Genowefa Warda of Queens, NY; her brother, Zbyszek Kleczek of Poland; as well as several nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives; friends. Elzbieta was predeceased by her father, Ludwig Kleczek.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 6 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. immediately following the visitation.
