Obituary for Wayne Maher
Wayne Maher, a long-time area resident, passed away on September 10, 2022, at Westchester Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on October 1, 1959, in San Diego, California, he was the son of the late John and Barbara (Brooks) Maher. Wayne also resided in South Carolina before moving to Beacon as a teenager. He was a Christian man who loved spending time with his family, riding his mountain bike, working on his cars, and attending car shows.
Wayne operated a successful wood flooring business in Newburgh and worked for UPS at Stewart Airport. He was very proud of his jobs and made many good friends along the way.
On October 24, 1987, Wayne married the love of his life, Lisa Marinaccio, at St. Mary Mother of the Church in Fishkill. Lisa survives at home in Newburgh.
Wayne was the proud father to their sons, Wayne Jr., and Anthony. Additional survivors include his granddaughter, Gabriella; his sister, Shannon Verdile and her spouse, Dave; his brother, Timothy Maher and his spouse, Olani; loving nieces and nephews; and many friends and family.
In addition to his parents, John and Barbara Maher, he was also predeceased by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ralph and Barbara Marinaccio.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, from 4 pm-8 pm with a service at 7:15 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, New York 12524. Inurnment will take place at 11am on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 US 9, Fishkill, New York 12524.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Wayne’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
