Obituary for Ruth F. DePaoli

HOPEWELL JUNCTION – Ruth F. DePaoli, 80, an area resident since 1970, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on September 23, 2022. She previously lived in the Bronx.

Born in the Bronx on August 1, 1942, Ruth was the daughter of the late Theodore and Frieda (Wolf) Steinbach. She began her career at New York Telephone Company where she was employed until she started her family. She then went on to become the office manager at various dental offices in the area.

Ruth was a parishioner at St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction. She loved volunteering at the East Fishkill Community Library and spending time at the East Fishkill Senior Center. She enjoyed playing tennis, and was a proud member of AllSport in Fishkill. Ruth looked forward to family vacations on the beach in Ocean City, New Jersey. Most of all, Ruth cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

On April 16, 1966 at St. Dominic’s Church in the Bronx, she married Rudolph DePaoli who survives at home after 56 years of marriage. She is also survived by her daughters, Lenore Ciancio and her husband David of Delmar and Loretta DePaoli-Dellicarpini and her husband John of Hopewell Junction; her beautiful grandchildren, Aidan Ciancio, Gianna Dellicarpini, GianCarlo Dellicarpini, and Ryan Ciancio; and her nephew, Roy LoCascio and his wife Debbie of Naples, FL. In addition to her parents, Ruth was also predeceased by her sister, Louise Turano; and her nephew, Ross LoCascio.

The family would like to thank Dr. Amelia Martinko, and her nurse, Diane, for their guidance and support, as well as Ruth’s caregiver Grace, for her exceptional devotion.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022 from 5 – 9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 10 am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by burial at St. Denis Cemetery.
