Obituary for Anife Capollari (Alioska)
NEWBURGH – Anife Capollari, a resident of the town of Newburgh since 1982, formerly of Beacon and Poughkeepsie, died at Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital on Saturday, November 5, 2022. She was 70.
Daughter of the late Ramadan and Anife (Alievska) Alioska, she was born in Bitola, North Macedonia (formerly Yugoslavia) on June 1, 1952. In 1970, she emigrated to the United States where she and her husband would raise their family.
Anife enjoyed hobbies such as cooking, gardening and home decorating. She loved music, and specifically admired popular music including artists like U2 and Jon Bon Jovi. Her quiet strength, welcoming heart, fun sense of humor, and resounding laugh are key elements in what made her extraordinary. She was happiest when entertaining family and friends who she’d always make feel special and loved by preparing the most delicious meals.
On February 16, 1970, Anife married Izedin Capollari in North Macedonia. Izedin survives at home in Newburgh.
Additional survivors include her son, Mersin Capollari & his wife Jennifer of Hopewell Junction; her son, Virgil Capollari of Fishkill; her daughter, Ardiana Cekici & her husband Jurgen of Newburgh; her sisters, Esma Islami, Sadije Sulejmanovski, and Adije Memedi & her husband Xhevdet; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Anife was predeceased by her brother, Adem Alioska.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, November 11 at McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 12 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Wappingers Falls Rural Cemetery.
