Obituary for Cara Ann Stumm
It is with great sadness that we share that Cara Ann Stumm, age 31, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2022.
She was born September 29, 1991, in Bronx, New York, to Kirk and Carol Stumm. Cara graduated from John Jay High School in 2009. She was a captain of the John Jay swim team where she set a new time record for her school. Cara later went on to graduate from Dutchess Community College and became a dedicated police officer who proudly served her community with the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Department and the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department.
Cara loved surrounding herself with the peacefulness of water. She enjoyed the beach, swimming, and paddle boarding. Cara also enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family and snuggling with her pets Zoey and Storm.
She will forever be loved and remembered by her parents Kirk and Carol Stumm; grandmother Rose Ruscitti; sister Stephanie Stumm; brother and sister-in-law Edward and Monica Stumm, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition, she will be missed by her best friend Ashley Hajosch, as well as many other close friends.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
