Obituary for Douglas Lee
Poughquag - Douglas Lee a resident of Poughquag, NY passed away on December 1, 2022, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He was 74 years old.
Douglas was born on January 4, 1948, in Washington, D.C. the son of On Bow and Nancy (Rios) Lee.
During his education he proudly obtained a Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering and two Masters Degrees in Computer Science and Management Information Systems. He held multiple careers from engineering to construction to banking until retiring as an Auditor for the Dutchess County Comptroller’s Office in Poughkeepsie. Throughout the way helping many friends and family with their businesses, finances, and taxes.
Douglas enjoyed all sports, especially skiing. His teams were the Giants, Yankees, and the Knicks, of course. One of his favorite things to do was head to Bally’s in Atlantic City as his father’s favorite place was the Riviera in Vegas. Above all, he loved spending his time with his family and their friends at the home he built and cherished. He was an extremely kind and generous man, a friend to many, and a father figure and mentor to his children’s friends growing up and to children he coached soccer for in the Town of Beekman.
Douglas is survived by his loving wife, Joan McDermott, his children, Douglas Lee, Christopher Patrick Lee and Kathryn Lee and his siblings, Peggy Carl, Dr. Virginia Gildengorin, Kim Pappalardo and Gary Lee and his wife Kimberly and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Thursday December 8, 2022, from 4pm-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home Inc. 895 Route 82 Hopewell Junction, NY with a service beginning at 7pm.
