Obituary for Anne R. McCabe
Anne R. McCabe, 88, an area resident since 1995 and formerly of Yorktown, died on January 15, 2023, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in the Bronx on July 28, 1934, she was the daughter of William and Elizabeth (McDermott) Roche. Anne was employed as a Registered Nurse at Westchester Medical Center and retired as the Head of Health Services at Westchester Community College.
On February 11, 1956, in the Bronx, Anne married the love of her life, Edward McCabe. She is predeceased by Edward and their daughter Peggy Anne McCabe. She is survived by her children, Kathy Palladino, Tom McCabe, Ellen McCabe, and Elizabeth Romeo; her adopted Irish daughters, Martina Norris and Ann Garrity; her brother, John Roche; 12 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
Anne had a positive impact on so many lives. Anne was a great wife, mother, sister, mother-in-law, aunt, friend, and, most passionately, a loving grandmother. She will be greatly missed.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday at 11 AM at Holy Name of Jesus in Valhalla, NY.
In lieu of flowers, her family is asking for donations in Anne's name to the American Diabetes Association or the Epilepsy Foundation.
