Obituary for Donald Di Giacomo
Donald Di Giacomo, age 82, a resident of Fishkill, and formerly of the Bronx and Milan Italy, passed away on March 9, 2023, at the Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing in Pawling.
He was born on January 29th, 1941, in the Bronx to parents Frank and Antonina (Oliveiro) Di Giacomo. On September 25th, 1993, he married Catherine (Dowling) Di Giacomo. Catherine predeceased him in 2017.
Donald graduated Cum Laude from NYU with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting. He worked as a Certified Public Accountant for his entire adult life. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, food, friends, and family. He was a member of St. Andrew and St. Luke Episcopal church in Beacon, NY.
Donald is survived by his daughter Cristina DiGiacomo of Forest Hills, NY; his son Richard DiGiacomo of Massachusetts; his stepdaughter Donna Sciamatore of Wappingers Falls, NY; granddaughters: Melinda Edwards (Jason) of Maine, Rachel DiGiacomo of Massachusetts, and Grace DiGiacomo also of Massachusetts; grandsons: Travis Jordan Briggs of New Hampshire, Brett Sciamatore (Jhoselyn) of Florida, Collin Sciamatore and Aiden Sciamatore of Wappingers Falls, NY; sister-in-law Cruz DiSisto of New York, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his wife Catherine, Donald was predeceased by his daughter Donna Briggs; his sister Cira Rose Di Giacomo; and his brother Desiderio “Buddy” DiSisto.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday March 16th, 2023, from 4-7 pm, with a funeral service at 7pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc. 1089 Main St. Fishkill NY 12524.
