Obituary for Richard Henry Koppel

HOPEWELL JUNCTION – Richard Henry Koppel, 73, passed away unexpectedly on March 19, 2023.

Born on May 30, 1949 in New York City, NY, Rick was the son of the late Herbert L. and Florence (Pasternak) Koppel. He had been employed by Advantage Solutions in Newburgh for over 40 years until his retirement in 2020. He returned to part-time employment with the same company in 2022.

Rick loved his family, especially his two wonderful granddaughters. He was an incredibly hard worker. In his free time, he loved going to the casino or staying home and watching his favorite programs, such as M*A*S*H and NYPD Blue. He was a lifelong sports fan with eclectic rooting interests. He was probably the only person in the world who rooted for both the New York Yankees and the Boston Celtics! He had a big personality and a great sense of humor. He will be missed.

Rick is survived by his daughters and their husbands, Alison and Adam Graswick of Gibsonia, PA and Heather and Scott Yoshimura of Phoenix, AZ; his granddaughters, Elaina and Olivia Graswick; his brother, Andrew Koppel and Mildene Bradley of Arlington, MA, and his nephew, Adam Koppel and Ruby Sakamoto of Portland, OR.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the McHoul Funeral Home. Please visit Rick’s Book of Memories at www.mchoulfuneralhome.com.
