Obituary for Victor A. Granuzzo

UNION VALE – Victor A. Granuzzo, 63, passed away on May 6, 2023, at New York Presbyterian Hospital surrounded by his family and friends following a long battle with cancer.

Born in Yonkers on March 16, 1960, he was the son of Delphia (Natoli) Granuzzo and the late Vito Granuzzo. Victor was a graduate of Lakeland High School and SUNY Morrisville where he studied engineering. He spent the first ten years of his career at IBM and then spent 26 years, prior to his retirement, at the Ardsley School District, serving as the Transportation Supervisor, supporting multiple school districts.

On October 9, 1988, in Yorktown Heights, Victor married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Balog. Victor and Barbara moved to the area in 1990 where they built their home in Lagrangeville.

Victor was a lover of baseball and basketball and spent the better parts of his years coaching his children’s sports teams. He co-founded the Tri-County Arsenal, a non-profit travel baseball team well known within the community and ran the organization for seven years. When he was not coaching, he loved to play baseball and basketball, golf, camp, and travel with his family and friends.

Victor was a deeply dedicated father, and his love for his son and daughter knew no bounds. He was loved by so many people and was also a fantastic husband, son, brother, uncle, colleague and friend. He had the biggest heart, the best jokes, and knew how to brighten up a room.

He is survived by his wife and mother; his children, Vincent Granuzzo and Danielle Granuzzo; his brother, Vincent Granuzzo and his wife Cindy; his sister Rosette Battista, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his father and his brother-in-law Denis Battista.

Victor’s family would like to thank the oncology team at the New York Presbyterian Hospital for providing the utmost care and comfort.
