Obituary for Lester D. DuBois III
Lester D. DuBois III, a lifelong Hudson Valley resident, passed away suddenly at home on Sunday, May 7, 2023. He was 57.
He was born on July 3, 1965 and grew up in Maybrook, NY. Lester was raised by his mother and stepfather, the late Georgetta (Scholz) Dunn and Charles “Chicky” Dunn.
At a young age, Lester became a hard worker and would continue a long career in construction. For many years, he worked alongside his stepfather and learned the flooring installation trade. Throughout his lifetime, he held jobs for several companies, most recently for Westchester Modular Homes in Wingdale, NY.
Lester was a “Jack of All Trades” with a vast knowledge of construction and mechanical repairs. He enjoyed many hobbies including fishing, kayaking, going to car races, and listening to music. He was a former volunteer firefighter for the Maybrook Fire Department. More than anything, Lester loved motorcycles and taking rides on his Harley Davidson.
He’ll be remembered for his outgoing personality and dedication to helping people in whatever capacity he could.
Survivors include his longtime partner and fiancé, Alice Caputo, along with her family; his daughter and sons, Kayla Hoffman, Kyle DuBois, and Tyler DuBois; his brother, Bryan Dunn; his aunts and uncles, Janice & Floyd Scholz and Nadine & Eric Scholz; as well as many cousins and other relatives & friends.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 12 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY.
