Ann Marie Burns (née Pasciucco), of Wappingers Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on June 1st, 2023 surrounded by her family. Ann was blessed with the privilege of maintaining her independence, as she resided in her own home with the loving support and care provided by her family, especially her granddaughter, Mackenzie. As a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she cherished every moment with her family. Ann’s kindness and generosity will be greatly missed by many.

Ann is predeceased by her mother, Laura Wegener, her special aunts, Margaret Pasciucco and Marge Potenza, and her husband of 51 years, James Burns, also of Yonkers, NY. She is survived by her brothers Paul and Curtis Wegener; sister-in-law Jodi Burns; son James Burns; daughters Margaret Burns and Jeanne Freer; son-in-law Robert Freer; grandchildren Anthony, Madison, Carolyn, Nolan, Mackenzie, Dyer, and Connery; great-grandson Brayden; and nephews Timothy, Keith, and Todd; and niece Kaitlyn.

Born in Yonkers, NY on December 19th 1940, Ann was raised in a traditional Italian-American family. She attended St. Mary's Elementary and Sacred Heart High schools in Yonkers. Ann and James were married on September 30th, 1961 at St. Mary’s Church. After starting a family and relocating to Wappingers Falls, she was employed by the IBM Corporation where she worked in quality control, retiring after 15 years of service. Ann spent her retirement traveling with her husband while also providing care for her much-loved grandchildren.

In life, Ann enjoyed her passions for shopping, dining, and travel which she shared with family and friends. In addition to her interests, Ann Marie's heart overflowed with love for her family dogs, with a special place reserved for her beloved Kona. Ann Marie also had a deep appreciation for classic movies, enjoying the timeless stories while savoring her favorite candies.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated doctors and nurses who provided exceptional care and support to Ann throughout her courageous battle with cancer. Ann struggled with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma for the better part of 20 years. In lieu of cards and flowers, the family requests a donation be made to Orange County Hospice in Newburgh, NY. Cremation has already taken place under the direction of the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, and a celebration of Ann’s life will be arranged at a future date.
