Obituary for Dorothy Bogdanowicz

Dorothy “Dot” Bodgandowicz passed away at the age of 88, at home surrounded by loved ones. Born on February 7, 1936 in Brooklyn, she spent time in Queens before moving her family to Long Island, eventually joining her daughter in Poughkeepsie, where she lived for 30 years.

Dot was quite a character; she was spunky, loving, and always looking for a good snack. Dot is survived by her sister Mary; her daughter Deb, and son Rich; grandchildren Ryan and Melissa, Alyssa, Danielle and Devin, and Gina; great-grand daughter Luna; as well as several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Richard, son Andrew, son-in-law Bill, and brothers John and George.

Dot had a wide range of jobs throughout her life, from nursing aid to security guard, and loved to read, dance the polka, and strike a pose. She will be remembered fondly and missed by many. As she always said, “God Bless and Protect Always.”

Calling hours will be held at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction on Saturday, April 27th from 1 – 5 pm with a funeral service beginning at 4:30 pm. Please visit Dot’s Book of Memories at www.mchoulfuneralhome.com.
