Obituary for Angela DiGiacomo

HOPEWELL JUNCTION- Angela DiGiacomo, a Dutchess County resident for 40 years, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family members on April 29, 2024 after a long battle fighting Multiple Sclerosis. She had an infectious smile and a twinkle in her big brown eyes.

Born in Brooklyn, NY on April 6, 1956, she was the daughter of Giulio and Maria (Di Paolo) DiGiacomo. She married her husband Paul Wtulich on July 31, 1983 at St. Denis Church.

Angela, ever a student of life and academia, graduated from Marist College in 1977 in just 3 years with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. She was also Valedictorian and awarded the only Summa Cum Laude in her class for her incredible academic achievements. Always passionate about her career, Angela developed multiple patents and celebrated 25 years of employment at IBM as a Senior Software Development Engineer Manager. She was fluent in Italian, loved to be surrounded by flowers, had great taste in music, and an affinity for traveling and dancing. She was a parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction, NY.

In addition to her devoted husband Paul of 41 years, Angela is survived by her beloved daughter Alexandra of Manhattan, NY; her sister Anna Marie Coffey and her husband Brendan Coffey of Rhinebeck, NY; her 4 nieces, and her father Giulio DiGiacomo of Hopewell Junction, NY. She is predeceased by her mother, Maria DiGiacomo.

The family asks for non-black attire for the services in celebration of Angela.

Calling hours will be held May 9, 2024 from 2 - 4 p.m. & 6 – 8 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home Inc., located at 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on May 10, 2024 at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Entombment will follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
