A. Edward Hennessy of Wappingers Falls passed away quietly and peacefully on September 1st at the age of 101 years. He was born February 27, 1914 in Jamaica, Queens and attended Bishop Loughlin High School in Brooklyn.

He spent an enjoyable part of his career as an executive buyer with the J C Penney company where he had many colleagues and friends who will always remember him as a man of integrity. He cared deeply for others and showed this in his acts of charity as well as his devotion to his Catholic faith.

He was predeceased by his wife of 45 years Rosalie, his wife of 22 years Josephine, granddaughter Maria McCarthy Ringwood, and great granddaughter Marie-Stella McCarthy. Ed is survived by his children Valerie McCarthy of Wappingers Falls, Eugenie Boland of Cold Spring and Thomas Hennessy of Albuquerque, New Mexico as well as 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Ed was a dedicated family man and will be remembered as the best father and grandfather ever. His long life can never be summed up in a few words. His unselfish deeds will live long after him.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 10-11:30am at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday at 12pm at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Interment will follow in St. Denis Cemetery.
