LAGRANGE – Abigail Arianna-Theresa Tsahalis, 17, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2022 at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD surrounded by her parents following a brief, but hard fought battle against very severe Aplastic Anemia.

Sweet Abigail was born in Poughkeepsie on July 9, 2005. She attended St. Peter's School in Hyde Park, Unionvale Middle School, and was a senior at Arlington High School where she was a member of the Link Crew, Orchestra, and the National Honor Society. While her activities are too numerous to list, most notably Abigail played the violin, flute, ukelele and studied dance at the New York Academy of Ballet. She loved to help and teach ballet to little children, and is now in Heaven teaching all of the little ones there. Abigail loved life, spreading kindness and positivity wherever she went. Upon diagnosis, her first concerns were for family and friends who might be impacted by her illness. She wanted everyone to share in the happiness and zest for life that she felt.

Abigail was pure joy and brought love and laughter into the lives of all who knew her. She will be remembered for her shining smile, strong hugs, and her unwavering consideration for others. She radiated sunshine.

Abigail is survived by her parents, John and Heather; her brothers, Alexander Tsahalis and Michael-Antonio Tsahalis and his wife Courtney; her grandparents, Charles and Corrie Blasi, and Zaharias and Katina Tsahalis; her aunts and uncles, Amy and Larry Bizzarro, and George and Agnes Tsahalis; her cousins, Andrew, Giovanni, Matteo Bizzarro, Zack, Katina, John, and Michael Tsahalis; a large extended family; many friends and her pets.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday at 11am at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 1925 Route 82, LaGrangeville followed by interment in Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
