LAGRANGE – Adam R. Bendel, 22, a lifelong area resident, died on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at home.

Adam was born in Poughkeepsie on September 14, 1990 and graduated from Arlington High School in 2008. Adam had been part of the LaGrange Travel Soccer League and the LaGrange Junior Basketball League (LJBL) as a player and a referee for both leagues. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed video games and fantasy football, and also loved animals.

Adam will always be remembered as a beloved son and brother. He is survived by his parents, Arnold and Donna (Whitehead) Bendel of LaGrange; his brother, David Bendel of Albany; and his sister, Amanda Bendel of Poughkeepsie.

Calling Hours will be held on Friday from 4 – 6 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at St. Peter’s Cemetery, 171 Salt Point Turnpike, Poughkeepsie.
