Adamantia
Tsopanoglou
August 3, 1940 – August 20, 2025
WAPPINGERS FALLS - Adamantia Tsopanoglou, 85, an area resident for 15 years, died on August 20, 2025 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She previously lived in Brooklyn and Greece.
Born in Nea Kios, Greece on August 3, 1940, Adamantia was the daughter of the late Ioannis and Ekaterini (Karakatsanis) Dimitriadis. She immigrated to the United States in 1967. She worked hard and struggled her entire life, starting as a young teenager in Greece, but with a strong work ethic and a lot of determination, she built a beautiful life in the United States. She retired as a Quality Control Senior Analyst from Chase Manhattan Bank.
Adamantia was devoted to her family and loved cooking for them. She was very talented in needlepoint, embroidery and beadwork, making beautiful creations such as flowers with nothing but wire and beads. She enjoyed listening to music and dancing with her husband. She will be remembered as a generous and caring individual who everyone went to for advice. Adamantia put others before her, keeping nothing for herself.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Eleni and Dennis Mott and Konstantinos and Iryna Christodoulopoulos; her grandchildren, Paul Mott and his girlfriend Renee Brownell and Amanda Mott and her boyfriend Joseph Wassner; her sister, Eva Catamas; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Adamantia was also predeceased by her husband, Nikolaos Christodoulopoulos; her second husband, Ioannis Tsopanoglou; and her siblings, Dia Gurlides, Apostolos Mitsopoulos, and Naoum Mitsopoulos.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 24th from 2 - 5 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
