Adelio De Santis, a Fishkill resident since 2008 and formerly of Yonkers, passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. He was 87.
Son of the late Michele and Giuseppina (Garzia) De Santis, he was born in Tagliacozzo, Italy on September 2, 1933. Adelio worked in construction and was a member of Building and Construction Laborers Local #235 retiring in 1996. He was a parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill and was a member of the Sons of Italy (Joe DiMaggio Lodge) and the Fishkill Senior Center.
On June 11, 1961, he married Armida Fazzolari at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Yonkers. Armida survives at home in Fishkill.
Additional survivors include his daughter, Pina Perrone & her husband Chet of Wappingers Falls; his grandchildren, Nicholas Perrone and Gabriella Perrone; his brother, Alfredo De Santis of Yonkers; his sister, Diana Colaizzi of Yonkers; and his brother, Livio De Santis & his wife Ann of New City; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives & friends.
Adelio was pre-deceased by his sister-in-law, Maria De Santis and his brother-in-law, Giuseppe Colaizzi.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 11 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 12 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale.
