Obituary

Agnes Josephine Thomas, 97, formerly of LaGrange, NY and Charlotte, NC, died on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Archcare at Ferncliff.

Born in Hartford, CT on June 1, 1918, she was the daughter of Felix and Agnes Josephine Malin Roman. Agnes was employed by Travelers Insurance in Hartford, CT for 24 years. For many years, she was an active member of the Lithuanian Club. She will always be remembered for speaking Lithuanian, drinking Cognac, her love of crocheting and polka music; and her favorite sayings, "The first 100 years are the hardest" and " Smile, even if it hurts".

Agnes is survived by her granddaughters and their husbands, Rachael and Chris Kemlage, and Deborah and Scott Boddie; her grandchildren, Logan and Grant Boddie, and Makenzie and Brooke Kemlage; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Joseph P. Thomas; her daughter, Helen Sutherland; and her brothers, Felix and John Roman.
