HOPEWELL JUNCTION - Albert James Albrecht, 72, an area resident for over 43 years, died on February 9, 2025 at home surrounded by his family. He previously lived in the Bronx.

Albie was born on November 23, 1952 in Queens, NY. He retired in 2012 from Westchester County where he had been employed as a locksmith for over 25 years.

Albie volunteered as a coach for many years with the East Fishkill Soccer Club. As a master of all trades, Albie could fix anything and was always willing to help others. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family. His family and friends will especially miss his amazing sense of humor and huge heart.

On September 8, 1974 at St. Benedict's Church in the Bronx, Albie married his high school sweet heart, Barbara (Layburn) Albrecht who survived at home after 50 years of marriage. He is also survived by his son, Craig Albrecht of East Fishkill; his daughter, Jennifer Yngstrom and her husband Korey; his grandchildren, Vincent, Camden, and Luca Albrecht and Avery Yngstrom; his siblings, Edward Albrecht, Linda Tate, James Albrecht, and Kathy Albrecht; and his nieces, Amy and Nicole Scheibling.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 13th from 5-8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 14th at 11 am followed by entombment at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
