STORMVILLE – Albert C. Thistleton, Sr., 83, a fifteen year resident of Stormville and formerly of Shrub Oak and Mt. Vernon, died on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at home.
Born in Mt. Vernon on August 10, 1929, he was the son of the late William and Margaret (Gormley) Thistleton. On April 18, 1954, he married Marguerite Terracciano who predeceased him on December 9, 2004.
Albert proudly served our country in the US Army and was awarded the WW II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal. He worked as a Television Technician and Projectionist at several locations in Westchester until his retirement. He enjoyed bowling and was an expert with electronics and computers. Above all, he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.
He is survived by his children, Albert C. Thistleton, Jr. and his wife Laura of Stormville, William Thistleton and his wife Tina of Utica, and Margie Thistleton Naranca of Stormville; his grandchildren whom he loved very much, Timothy, Christopher, A.J., Joseph, Danny, Leighann, and Juliet; and his sister, Marilyn Siegal of Florida. He was also predeceased by 5 sisters and brothers.
Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday from 5 - 8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment at St. Denis Cemetery with military honors.
