Limato
December 27, 1928 – March 1, 2025
Alexander Mario Limato, Sr., 96, a resident of East Fishkill since 2020, died on March 1, 2025 at home surrounded by his family. He previously lived in Mount Vernon.
Born in Mount Vernon on December 27, 1928, Alex was the son of the late Paul and Louise (Fino) Limato. Alex retired as an Operator Engineer from the construction industry after decades of hard work. He was a parishioner at Sts. Peter and Paul and St. Ursula Church in Mount Vernon.
He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was active with Gold Star Mothers and was past Commander of his Local DAV Chapter.
On May 12, 1963 in Eastchester, he married Dolores (Dunn) Limato who predeceased him in 2010. He survived by his daughters and their spouses, Ann and Steven Schweitzer of Hopewell Junction and Donna and Gary Proft of Mahopac and his grandchildren, Austin Schweitzer of Hopewell Junction, Casey Schweitzer of Hopewell Junction, and Barbara Manzo of Philadelphia.
In addition to his wife and parents, Alex was also predeceased by his son, Alexander Mario Limato, Jr. in 2019.
A Mass of Christian Burial is being offered on Tuesday, March 4th at 10 am at Sts. Peter & Paul and St. Ursula Church, 129 E. Birch Street, Mount Vernon, NY 10552 followed by burial at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale with military honors.
