Alfonso Moretti, 71, a resident of Hopewell Junction for 17 years and formerly of Yorktown Heights, died at his home on Wednesday, October 14, 2015.
Born in Mount Vernon on May 25, 1944, he was the son of Patsy Frank and Molly Ciaramella Moretti. Al proudly served our country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for the Army Corps of Engineers, and then for IBM in East Fishkill and Yorktown Heights as an Electrical Engineer until his retirement in 2000. He was a Licensed Professional Engineer. He enjoyed building, fishing, riding his motorcycle and flying model airplanes.
On May 12, 1968 in Mount Vernon, Al married Grace DiVernieri who survives at home. He is also survived by his devoted daughter, Christy Moretti of Hopewell Junction; his son, Alfonso Moretti Jr. of CA; his grandsons, Joseph, Jonathan, Ethan and Kyle; his brothers and their wives, Patsy and Marie Moretti of Yorktown Heights, Anthony and Ginger Moretti of Stormville; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in Raymond Hill Cemetery.
