Alice L. Martorano, 80, an area resident since 1957 and formerly of Yonkers, died on Monday, June 1, 2015 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center following a long illness.
Born in Yonkers on December 3, 1934, she was the daughter of Richard and Louise Light Way. Alice was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and enjoyed cooking and ceramics.
On March 24, 1970 in Mexico, Alice married John V. Martorano who survives at home. She is also survived by her children and their spouses, Cheryl O’Herron and Ken Pollock of Poughkeepsie, Robert and Ellen VanVoorhis of Danbury, CT, Kim and Dan Ketron of Auburn, MA, Thomas Martorano of Highland, Scott and Donna Martorano of Ada, MI, James and MaryAnn Martorano of Pleasant Valley, and John and Christiana Martorano of Danbury, CT; her stepdaughters and their husbands, Susan and Bruce Kauffman, Lori and George Hopp, Jo-Ann and Charlie Nestor; her siblings, David Way, Marilyn Maxwell and Richard Way; 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 11am-12pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by a service at 12pm. Interment will follow in Kensico Cemetery.
