Obituary

Alice L. Murphy, a lifelong local area resident, died at her home in Glenham on Monday, August 17, 2015. She was 95.
Daughter of the late John and Anna (Schnetzler) O'Donnell, she was born in Yonkers on June 16, 1920. On December 22, 1940, she married Edward S. Murphy at St. Joachim Church in Beacon. She was predeceased by her husband on July 16, 2008 after 67 years of marriage.
Alice was a devout Catholic and member of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill. She was also active with the Slater-Chemical Fire Co. in Glenham, where she belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary.
As she slipped away she had a simple wish, "Just thank God for my wonderful life".
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Trifilo & her husband Eugene of Glenham; her daughter, Donna Bamond & her husband David of Fishkill; her son, Edward Murphy & his wife Bernadette of Marlboro; her daughter, Patricia Roza & her husband Richard of Milton; her daughter, Doreen Murphy of Glenham; her grandchildren, Mark Trifilo, Michael Archer, Eugene Trifilo, Staci Elaan, Brian Usifer, Joseph Murphy, Megan Murphy, and Cara Murphy; her great-grandchildren, Sonya, Chelsea, Sean, Melissa, Marc, Molly, Peter, Rose, Nakita, Juliana, and Ariana; her great-great-grandchildren, Logan, Bryar, Wyatt, Mia, and Elliot; her siblings, Anna-Mae Handley of Pennsylvania, Joan Johnan & her husband Ralph of Florida, and Jack O'Donnell & his wife Carol of Fishkill; also many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives & friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Alice was also predeceased by two grandsons, Frank Trifilo and Christopher Usifer, as well as two sisters, Mary Nealis and Margaret Provost.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, August 21 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 12 p.m. on Saturday, August 22 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill. Rev. Thomas Lutz will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Joachim Cemetery in Beacon.
