LAGRANGEVILLE – Alice Elizabeth Williams, 90, an area resident since 1986, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at the Pines at Poughkeepsie.
Born in Manchester, CT on October 13, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Robert Henry and Lilli (Gillis) Creighton. On May 6, 1944 in Mount Vernon, Alice married Theodore R. Williams who predeceased her on November 9, 2010.
Alice graduated from Edison Technical High School. She then went on to study at the New Rochelle Hospital School of Nursing, receiving her degree in 1944. She had been employed as a nursing supervisor at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla for 30 years until her retirement in 1986.
She is survived by her children, Bruce Williams of Hyde Park, Shelley Esposito of Stormville, and Kathy Pfister of Pleasant Valley; her grandchildren, Kendle, Christopher, Brian, Joseph, Kelly, Keri, K.C., and Regina; and her great-grandchildren, Brittany, Rachel, Lakyn, Dean, Erik, Avery, Bryce, Brooklyn, Brady, and Ryan. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Creighton and her son-in-law, John Esposito.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 9:30 – 11:30 am at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by a funeral service at 11:30 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla.
