POUGHKEEPSIE - Allen M. LaForge, 64, a lifelong area resident, died on August 15, 2018.

Born in Poughkeepsie on May 15, 1954, he was the son of the late David and Edith (Chase) LaForge, Sr. Allen had been employed by Jay Schaeffer Construction in LaGrangeville for 12 years. He was an avid fan of NASCAR.

Allen is survived by his siblings and their spouses, Brenda and Jimmie Dement, Linda Ballard, Sharon and Robert Stramm, Terry Finn, Denise and Earl Bishop, Laura and James Vail, Brian LaForge, and Pamela and Joseph McGinty; and 77 nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his brother, David LaForge; his brothers-in-law, Fred Ballard, James Finn and Walter Seeland; and his nephew, Thomas Ballard.
