Wappingers Falls- Andrei G. Szeghy a resident of Wappingers Falls, NY passed away on August 21, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was 76 years old.
Andrei was born in Romania on January 15, 1947, the son of Andrei and Margaret Ignacz. Before escaping Romania, he played soccer for the Romanian State Soccer Team. After leaving, he lived in Hungary before immigrating to the United States in 1965.
On October 21, 1967, he married the love of his life Erika (Szakal) at the Hungarian Reformed Church in NYC. The couple moved to Dutchess County, settling in Wappingers, and raising a beautiful family. Erika survives at home.
Andrei owned and operated Andrei Szeghy Painting in NYC, NY.
In addition to his wife Erika, Andrei is survived by his children Mark and his wife Cindy Szeghy and Andrei and Carolyn Szeghy and four grandchildren: Rachel, Renee, Sarah, and Erik.
