BEACON – Angel R. Acosta, a resident of Milford, PA since 2007 and formerly of Beacon, died at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, June 12, 2016. He was 64.
Son of the late Angel R. Acosta and Clara "Cookie" Ocasio, he was born in San German, Puerto Rico on December 12, 1951. Angel's family later moved to Beacon, where he attended local schools. He was a graduate of Beacon High School. Angel was inducted into the U.S. Army in 1971 and was honorably discharged for his service in 1973.
For 30 years, he worked for I.B.M. at their East Fishkill facility. He had obtained a management position prior to his retirement in 2007.
Angel enjoyed many hobbies such as softball, fishing, working on cars, and yardwork. He took great pride in everything he did. He truly enjoyed being a part of his grandchildren's lives and volunteered as a coach for their baseball & football teams.
On February 7, 1970, he married Milta Morales at St. John the Evangelist Church in Beacon. Milta survives at home in Milford, PA.
He is also survived by his son, Angel R. Acosta, Jr. and daughter, Amy Acosta, both of Milford, PA; his grandchildren, Kane, Ty, James, Aiden, Trinity, and Aryanna; his brother, Nelson Acosta of Beacon; and his aunts & uncle, Margarita Jiminez of North Carolina and Nelson & Anna Ocasio of Beacon; as well as many cousins and other loving relatives & friends.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 16 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 17 at St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 Willow Street, Beacon. Interment will follow at Fishkill Rural Cemetery, where the U.S. Army will conduct Military Honors.
