Angela J. Boldrin, 80, a resident of Hopewell Junction since 1980 and formerly of Yonkers, died on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Wingate at Dutchess surrounded by her loving family after a brave struggle with ALS (Lou Gerhig’s Disease).

Born Angelina J. Vetrano in Yonkers on December 10, 1931, she was the daughter of Neal and Christina (Timponi) Vetrano. Angela was a parishioner of St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction.

Angela was employed by NY Telephone as a switchboard operator and later as a sales associate for Gimbel’s Department Store in Yonkers. Her favorite job was being a homemaker, wife, mother, and grandma. She was famous among family and friends for her lasagna and her pies.

On May 8, 1950 in Danville, VA, Angela married her childhood sweetheart, Martin Boldrin, who survives at home. She is also survived by her children and their spouses, Robert and Karen Boldrin and Christina and Walt Hobson; her sister, Helen Paolicelli; and her grandchildren, Kimberly Boldrin, Melissa Boldrin, Jessica Lyons and her husband Andrew, Jason and Julie Hobson, and Christina Hobson. She was predeceased by her 2 brothers, Eli and Michael Vetrano.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
