Anita Griffiths, 94, of Satellite Beach, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 with her family beside her.

Born in Mount Vernon on January 7, 1915, she was the daughter of William and Monica Archer. She lived in Scarsdale for many years where she was a parishioner of St. Pius X Church and a volunteer at White Plains Hospital. In 1996, she moved to Satellite Beach where she was a parishioner of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Indialantic.

Anita was predeceased by her husband, George "Fred" Griffiths in 1998. She is survived by her sons, George (Lorraine) Griffiths, William (Norma) Griffiths, Michael Griffiths and Donald (Suzanne) Griffiths; her grandchildren, William A. (Tricia) Griffiths, Jr., Kelly (Joseph) Fulton, Michelle Griffiths, George (Denise) Griffiths IV, Jennifer (Michael) Bennett, Gina (David) Coonrod, Christine (Walter) Griffiths, Danielle (Sean) Griffiths, Michael Griffiths Jr., Rebecca Plumpton, Heather, Danielle and James Albright; and 26 great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla.
