Obituary

Anita Irene Miutz, a long-time area resident, died peacefully at home on December 31, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was 81.

Born in the Bronx on December 18, 1943, she was the daughter of Joseph and Anita (Pritchard) Miutz.

Anita attended secretarial school following her high school graduation. She was employed with IBM and retired at a manager level position.

Anita had many hobbies and interests that kept her active. She enjoyed horseback riding, arts and crafts, antiquing, cooking, exploring new recipes, long walks and volunteering with Meals on Wheels. She was an active member of the Church of Regina Coeli in Hyde Park.

Anita is survived by her nephew, Joseph Cartman and his wife, Jihyun (Kwon); her nephew, Michael Cartman and his wife, Megan (Reilly) with their children, Ava, Gia, and Jacob; her niece, RaeAnn (Scivolette) Tompkins and her husband, Bill with their children, Olivia and Liam; her niece, Christine (Scivolette) Groomes and her husband, Martin. Anita was predeceased by her twin sister, Carol M. (Miutz) Cartman and her husband, Frank; her sister, JoAnn E. (Miutz) Scivolette and her husband, Raymond; and her parents, Joseph and Anita (Pritchard) Miutz.

Anita was a lover of all animals and went out of her way to help those in need throughout her lifetime. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Anita's name to the Dutchess County SPCA, www.dcspca.org
