Anita O'Neill, 93, a resident of Hopewell Junction since 2012 and previously of North Salem, died on November 23, 2019 at The Grand at Pawling.

Born on December 1, 1925 in Port Chester, Anita was the daughter of George T. and Loretta (Hansen) Hains. On September 7, 1946 in Port Chester, Anita married the love of her life, Virgil A. O'Neill who predeceased her on February 18, 1979.

Anita was a Bookkeeper for Empire Brushes in Port Chester and Griffen Ford in Greenwich, CT. She was an avid reader and a lover of pets and puzzles.

Survivors include her daughters, Susan Hallinan of Hopewell Junction and Linda "Windy" Palladino and her husband Neil of Stormville; her grandchildren, Jason Hallinan and his wife Angelique and Jeffrey Hallinan and his wife Heather; her great grandchildren, Aidan and Jaxon. In addition to her husband and parents, Anita was predeceased by her son, Edward O'Neill in 1971 and her son in law, Richard Hallinan in 2017.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 3-7 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10am at the funeral home followed by burial at Greenwood Union Cemetery.
