WAPPINGERS FALLS – Ann E. Donohue, 71, an area resident for over 35 years, died on April 8, 2021 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She previously lived in Mount Vernon.
Born in Mount Vernon on September 9, 1949, Ann was the daughter of the late Robert and Veronica (Gannon) Anderes. She retired as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor at Putnam Hospital Center where she worked until her retirement.
An avid lover of all animals, her eccentric style will be remembered by all who knew her. Ann especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
On June 2, 1968 at Grace Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, Ann married Richard Donohue. Her husband of almost 53 years survives at home. She is also survived by her children, Patrick Donohue and his wife Stacey of Poughkeepsie, Richard Donohue of Wappingers Falls, and Hannah Donohue of Wappingers Falls; her grandchildren, Ayla, Patrick, and Joseph Donohue; her sisters, Loretta Lifgren and her husband Martin, Eileen Black and her husband Jeff; and Elizabeth Abrahams; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ann was also predeceased by her daughter, Sarah Donohue in 2000; and her brothers, Hugh and Edward Anderes.
Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 3:30 pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place at 2pm on Friday at Hopewell Cemetery. PLEASE NOTE: In compliance with NYS guidelines, social distancing and face masks will be required.
