Ann-Marie Blackman's Obituary
TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – Ann-Marie Blackman, 77, a lifelong area resident, passed away on March 3, 2021 at MidHudson Regional Hospital. Born in Brooklyn on November 24, 1943, she was the daughter of the late James and Carmela (DeLuca) Guarino.
On February 14, 1988 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Fishkill, Ann-Marie married Ronald B. Blackman who survives at home. She is also survived by her children, Dawn Perri and her husband Todd of Wappingers Falls and Michael Rende of Wassaic; her grandchildren, Brandy Stossel and her husband Joseph of Poughkeepsie, Jay Herbert and his fiancé John Fash of Niskayuna, and Michaela Herbert and her significant other Armando Moore of Wappingers Falls; her great-grandchildren, Toby Black, Hope Black, and Emmalia Stossel; her brother, Frank Guarino and his wife Joanne; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, George and Greta Argueta of W. Babylon; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her brother, Joseph Guarino.
Ann-Marie enjoyed gardening and watching the View (Whoopi Goldberg was her favorite!). She has a tremendous sense of humor, and enjoyed sharing jokes. She liked to show off her cartwheel skills even in her 70's. Most of all, she loved being a GG to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and was proud to have helped raise them all.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 1- 4 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 11am at Trinity Episcopal Church followed by burial at Fishkill Rural Cemetery. PLEASE NOTE: In compliance with NYS guidelines, social distancing and face masks will be required. Since capacity may be limited, all attendees should be prepared for potential extended waiting periods.
The family would like to thank the staff of MidHudson Regional Hospital, especially Kathy and Katie in CCU and Amanda, Thomas, George, and Dr. Brook in the ER, for their care and compassion.
