Obituary


Anna Mary Chodan, 82, a resident of Hopewell Junction for 8 years and formerly of Carmel and the Bronx, died on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at Putnam Hospital Center.
Born in Romania on September 11, 1927, she was the daughter of Sebastian and Elisabeth Dukadam Bauer.  Anna was employed as a clerk for the US Postal Service in Manhattan for 15 years until her retirement in 1995. She was a member of the East Fishkill Seniors and she enjoyed painting.


On April 10, 1949 in New York City, Anna married Stephen Chodan who predeceased her.  She is survived by her sons, James Chodan of South Berlin and Bill Chodan and his wife Lorraine of Hopewell Junction; her grandchildren, Keith, Joy, Ross, Steven and Kara; and her great-grandchildren, Leila, David and Domenic.  She was predeceased by her son, George Chodan in 1996.


Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.  The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
