POUGHKEEPSIE – Anna Julia Herzog, 92, an area resident since 1986 and formerly of Yonkers, died on August 22, 2023 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in Caguas, Puerto Rico on June 10, 1931, she was the daughter of Juan Fernandez and Gloria Ortiz. Anna had worked as a waitress in various restaurants in Yonkers, and then at Sam's Club until 2000. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends.

Anna was predeceased by her husband, William Herzog, on June 10, 2000; and her sisters, Lucy Galvan and Iris Solis. She is survived by her son, Rick Girardi and his wife Peggy; her daughter, Maryann Ubriaco and her husband Tony; her loving stepdaughter, Loraine Herzog; her grandchildren, Christine and Grant Ackerly, Corie and Eric Kirsch, CJ Girard, Jennifer Girard and her partner Jessica, and Elizabeth and Justin Cummings; and her great-grandchildren, Trevor, Victoria, Mason, Samantha and Olivia.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 30, at 12pm at the Community Mausoleum at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
