LAGRANGEVILLE – Anna Lucente, 89, an area resident for 30 years and formerly of Queens, died on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at the Lutheran Care Center.
Born in Acerra, Naples, Italy on May 15, 1924, she was the daughter of Carmine and Maria Pannella Avella. Anna had worked as a professional seamstress and was a parishioner of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church in LaGrangeville.
Anna is survived by her children, John Lucente and his wife Santina of Staten Island, Maria Rodrigues of Poughquag, Carmine Lucente and his wife Michelle of Mineola; her grandchildren, Marissa Meduri, Annette Lucente, Tony Rodrigues, Christina Rodrigues, Alexis Lucente, Anthony Lucente and Jenna Lucente; her great-grandchildren, Michael and Beatrice Meduri, Ava and Olivia Rodrigues; her brothers, Antonio, Clemente and Luigi Avella; her sister, Ortese Avella; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Anna was predeceased by her husband, Antonio; her son-in-law, Joseph Rodrigues; and her siblings, Gennaro, Francesco, Immaculata and Maria.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 3-6pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 1925 Route 82, LaGrangeville followed by entombment in St. John's Cemetery, Queens.
