Anna Carmela Masella, 89, a resident of Yonkers for 55 years and formerly of the Bronx, died on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Wingate at Dutchess in Fishkill.
Born in the Bronx on May 17, 1923, she was the daughter of Saverio and Margherita Sammartino Tangredi. She had a long career as a bookkeeper and was last employed at Caldor's in Yonkers until her
retirement in 1990. She was a member of the Yonkers Seniors and was known as the "Scrabble Queen." She was also an avid card player and at the age of 83, she received her Queen of Hearts tattoo, done by her grandson.
Anna was predeceased by her husband, Anthony Masella and is survived by her children, Anthony Masella of Las Vegas, NV and Lisa Lombardi and her fiancé Brian Murphy of Hopewell Junction; and her grandchildren, Richard Lombardi of Raleigh, NC, Christopher Lombardi of Buffalo, Laurie Lombardi of Hopewell Junction, Anthony Masella of Las Vegas, NV and Michael Masella of Las Vegas, NV.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2012 from 2-4 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will follow at 4pm.
