FISHKILL – Anna S. Messina, 91, a resident of Fishkill since 1992, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at home. She previously lived in Manhattan and the Bronx.

Born in New York City on November 1, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Angelina (Flora) Stabile. On May 31, 1943 in the Bronx, Anna married Frank Joseph Messina who predeceased her on July 16, 2000. Anna loved to cook, clean, and she especially loved to shop!

She is survived by her daughter, Angela Messina of Fishkill; her grandchildren, Joseph F. Messina of Orange County and Frank J. Messina III and his wife Tanya of Orange County; her great-grandchildren, Hailey, Ava, Kevin, and Megan; her sisters-in-law, Josie Stabile of Long Island and Carmela Stabile of Pelham Manor; and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her son, Frank J. Messina, Jr. on November 15, 2011 and her brothers and sisters, all of who were raised very close, Nicky Stabile, Rose Amatulli, Fred Stabile, Margaret Egan, and Vincent Stabile.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday and Sunday from 2 – 5 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. The funeral service will be held on Monday at 10 am at the funeral home followed by entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.
