Anna Rose Pistolesi, a resident of Fishkill since 1972, and previously of the Bronx, passed away on June 13, 2023. She was 93.
She was born on March 20, 1930, in Brooklyn, to the late Aniello and Mary (Russo) Emmino.
Anna and Giulio were married on July 9, 1961, he survives at home. She was a devoted wife and an equally devoted mother of three. Her devotion extended to her grandchildren, whom she also helped raise. Her love for her family and friends was immeasurable. She was born and raised in Brooklyn, a part of her history that she spoke of with extreme pride. Anna helped those who couldn't help themselves and also those who could. She was a giver, generous beyond measure. The soul of a warrior and the heart of an angel. Selfless, hiding struggles with gestures of kindness.
Anna loved her bakeries. Her family opened Cake Bin in Newburgh in 1974 and G & R International Bake Shop in Beacon in 1980. Anna worked for 40 years until her retirement in 2010 at the age of 80.
Anna loved gardening mainly because she was raised on a farm. She loved sharing her fruits and vegetables, just like her father. She loved all flowers but roses and hydrangeas the most. They reminded her of her mother. Anna loved acquiring collectibles, because she always said, "this is my legacy". Another generous gesture!
Anna loved putting her feet in the ocean, searching for clams, however she spent most of her time working beside her husband at their bakeries. She was able to continue to share her generosity with everyone who walked through the door.
Anna lived her life for others always putting herself last.
Survivors include her husband Giulio Pistolesi; her children, Xavier Frank Balsamello, Renato Pistolesi (Tracy), Giulianna Pistolesi (Flo); her grandchildren, Larina Soto (Alberto), Renato Pistolesi, Jr., Carmine Pistolesi (Kristen), Giulio Pistolesi (Ashley), Nicholas Pistolesi (Jacquelyn), Carlo Pistolesi-Inciardi, Frankie Pistolesi-Inciardi, Cariann Balsamello, and Charlie Balsamello; 5 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, brother-in-law; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved friend and caregiver, Elecia Anderson.
