Anna M. Scarchilli, 83, a lifelong area resident, died peacefully at home on Sunday, July 17, 2011.
Born in Poughkeepsie on June 18, 1928, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Anna Hayes White. She was employed as a computer programmer for IBM, Poughkeepsie until her retirement in 1986. Anna was a parishioner of St. Mary's, Our Lady of the Falls Parish in Wappingers Falls.
On August 4, 1946 at St. Peter's Church in Poughkeepsie, Anna married Angelo John Scarchilli who predeceased her on August 30, 2002. She is survived by her children, Barbara and Michael Pallazzo of Poughkeepsie, Patricia Prizzi and Stephen Bellizzi of Wappingers Falls, and John Jude Scarchilli of Beaumont, TX; her grandchildren, Lisa and Jake O'Hearn, Yolanda and Brian Terralavoro, Christopher and Allison LaFalce, Nicole LaFalce, John Michael and Jacquelyn Prizzi; and her great-grandchildren, Audrey Rose O'Hearn, Sebastian Alan and Violet Innes LaFalce, Nicolo Dante Terralovoro and Delilah Rose Eckwall.
There are no calling hours. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 am at St. Mary's, Our Lady of the Falls Parish, 11 Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls followed by interment in St. Mary's Cemetery.
