Anna C. Spellman, a longtime resident of Hopewell Junction, passed away on September 22, 2023, at The Manor at Woodside in Poughkeepsie, NY. She was 93 years old.

Anna was born on June 29, 1930, in New York City, the daughter of Martin and Katherine (Conlon) Barrett. She was the valedictorian of her graduating class. She received her driver's license in her 50s and worked until her 80s.

Anna loved being with her family and taking care of them. She loved her cats and being around her family and friends at the East Fishkill Senior Center and Al-Anon. An avid reader, she loved visiting the East Fishkill Library. She loved Irish music and traveled there seven times. She also survived cancer three times.

Anna is survived by her children Robert and his wife Andi Spellman, and her daughter Christine Spellman, her grandchildren, Sharon Pena, Linda Roberto, and Brian Scott and her beloved great-grandchildren, Ashley, Matthew, Jack, Chase, Violet, and Hailey along with many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Joseph Spellman; two daughters Patricia Spellman and Catherine Scott; and her sister Mary Kugler.

Calling hours will be at McHoul Funeral Home Inc. 895 Route 82 Hopewell Junction, NY on Thursday, September 28, 2023, from 4pm-7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 29, 2023, at 11:30AM at St. Denis Church. Interment to follow in St. Denis Cemetery.
