Anna Vitale, 95, an area resident for 29 years and formerly of Yonkers died on July 1, 2023 after a long illness.

She was born in the Bronx on November 26, 1927 to Tony and Margaret Vaccaro. On October 31, 1948, Anna married Benjamin Vitale at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in New York City.

She is survived by her sons, Joe (Arlene) and Anthony (Dena) and her daughter, Ann Marie; her grandchildren, Margaret Thorne (Chris) & Gina Martucci (Mike); and her great grandchildren, Christopher & Kaitlyn Thorne, Anthony Vitale and Milania & Mia Martucci.

Anna was predeceased by her husband Benjamin, her son-in-law Michael and grandson Joseph.

Anna's life was spent devoted to her family especially her children and grandchildren. The happiest times were when everyone gathered together for Sunday dinners. She was well known for her lasagna and Italian Cookies. No one went hungry in Anna's house.

Second to her delicious cooking, Anna was an avid fan of Frank Sinatra. When she was a teenager, she would go to the Paramount Theater with her future sister-in-law who was also her classmate. She also enjoyed the movie, "Gone with The Wind" and was an avid collector. The movie length never bothered her. She watched it many times. For a brief time, she worked at St. Joseph's Seminary in Yonkers. She also worked part-time in Shop Rite as a bagger.

God Bless You Mom and May He hold you close to His heart. Your family thanks you for all your love and devotion. We will never forget you. We love you dearly. You are the best of the best.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 from 1 – 4 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10am on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill followed by entombment at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
