Anne M. Kennedy, 87, a resident of Poughquag and formerly of Carmel and the Bronx, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Scotland on April 15, 1925, she was the daughter of Francis and Catherine McGinty McLean. She was a parishioner of St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction.
On July 5, 1952 at Sacred Heart Church in the Bronx, Anne married Francis Kennedy who predeceased her on February 9, 1976. She is survived by her children, Barbara Kennedy of Poughquag, Marian Ryan and husband James of Poughquag, James Kennedy and wife Genevieve of Mahopac and Anne Marie Byrnes and husband Robert of Mahopac; her sister, Sr. Frances McLean, OP of Blauvelt; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Kennedy, Denise Kennedy, Meghan Smalley and husband Shawn, Patrick Ryan and wife Emily, Ryan Byrnes, James Byrnes and Brendan Byrnes; her great-grandson, Benjamin Smalley; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her brother, John McLean.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla.
