Anne T. McCallum, 95, a resident of Dutchess County since 1979 and formerly of Queens, died on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at home surrounded by her family.
Born in New York City on March 18, 1916, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna Hannigan Hackett. She attended Holy Family School in Brooklyn, Bishop McDonnell High School in Brooklyn and Lamb's New York Business School in Brooklyn and had been employed as a bookkeeper for Fairchild Publications in Manhattan.
Anne was a parishioner of St. Columba Church and a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She was also a member of the East Fishkill Seniors and the Senior Citizens at the American Legion Post #1302 in Arlington, as well as the VFW Post #8203 Ladies Auxiliary, Northport, FL.
On November 10, 1945 in Brooklyn, Anne married William Charles McCallum who predeceased her on April 13, 1980.
She is survived by her daughters, Karen Ann Hansen of Beacon and Barbara J. Straley and her husband Phillip of Poughkeepsie; her grandchildren, Michele and Shane Touhey, Michael and Christine Hansen, Nichole Straley, Kara and Patrick Cronin, Karena Hansen, Phillip and Hillary Straley; her great-grandchildren, KaylaAnn Hansen, KielyAnn Cronin, Lorelei Hansen, Justin Touhey, Patrick Cronin, John Hansen, Mairead Cronin and Kaytlin Avery Straley; and her nephews, Jerome Hackett of Florida and Michael Hackett of Staten Island. She was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph, John, Daniel, Thomas, William and James, and her sister, Margaret.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
