HOPEWELL JUNCTION – Anne K. Russo, 81, an area resident since 1973, died on August 4, 2021 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She previously lived in East New York.

Born in East New York on July 9, 1940, Anne was the daughter of the late John and Pauline (Sclafani) Sciame. Anne worked for many years as a teacher at St. Gregory the Great School in Brooklyn and then St. Columba School in Hopewell Junction before retiring from Hudson Valley Physical Therapy, where she was employed for many years as a receptionist.

Anne was a longtime parishioner at St. Columba Church. She was also active with St. Columba School where she worked as a substitute teacher, girl scout leader and CYO cheerleading coach. She also was a member of the OLL Warriors Parent Sports Club.

On January 23, 1971, at St. Gregory the Great Church in Brooklyn, Anne married Robert G. Russo. Her husband of 50 years survives at home. She is also survived by her children and their spouses, Kathryn and Kenneth Luttman of Fishkill, Robert and Anne Russo of Mamaroneck, Mary Ellen and Raymond Moen of Wallkill, and John and Stefanie Russo of Mamaroneck; her grandchildren who affectionally called her "Nanny", Elisabeth, Kenneth, and Emily Luttman, Jude and Vivienne Russo, Raymond and Brendan Moen, and Anthony and Sofia Russo; her sister, Nardi Marshall and her husband Tom; her sister-in-law, Joanne Sciame; and many nieces, nephews, and friends who were like family. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her brother, Biagio Sciame.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday at 10 am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by burial at St. Denis Cemetery.
